Education Outreach Manager

Scott Plunk, EdD

Dr. Scott Plunk serves as the SRSCRO Education Outreach Manager. Born and raised in a hardworking, blue-collar neighborhood in Conyers, Georgia, Scott learned early the value of community, perseverance, and creating opportunities for others. Over the past 18 years, Scott has served as an educator and program leader while also drawing on a unique background in television and media production that includes two Sports Emmy Awards and professional experience with ESPN. As Education Outreach Manager at SRSCRO, Scott builds partnerships among schools, employers, higher education institutions, and community organizations to help students discover STEM, workforce, and career pathway opportunities throughout the CSRA.

After earning a black belt in karate as a teenager, Scott went on to graduate from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, specializing in film, television, and radio production. While building a career in education, he earned both a master’s degree and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education. An eternal optimist, Scott believes in the power of lifelong learning and thinking big. Scott and his wife are the proud parents of five children and call Evans, Georgia home. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, watching baseball, staying active in the gym, and continually challenging himself to grow both internally and externally, recently drawing inspiration from the book Bigger Leaner Stronger by Michael Matthews.
