The SRSCRO is governed by a 22-member Board of Directors appointed by local governments, chambers of commerce, and members of the South Carolina and Georgia Congressional Delegations. The Board is composed of business, government and academic leaders from Georgia and South Carolina. The two states are equally represented with 11 board members each. The chairperson rotates between the states on a two-year term.
A seven-member Executive Committee meets monthly to oversee SRSCRO activities on behalf of the board. Several task forces and working groups have been established to focus on specific SRSCRO initiatives, including nuclear workforce training and development, ultimate disposal of high-level nuclear waste, land use planning for a proposed SRS Energy Park, and disposal of excess DOE property from the Savannah River Site. A Finance Committee and an Audit Committee are responsible for SRSCRO budgeting and financial management.
